I kept converting screen recordings to GIFs in the terminal, compressing PNGs through a website that imposed file limits and kept the originals. I built Refiner to stop doing both.

Drop in a file, pick a format or drag a compression slider, and see the predicted output size before you commit. PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, SVG and BMP for images. MP4, WebM, MOV and GIF for video, with palette-optimised GIF export and FPS control for compression. Everything runs on your machine.

I packaged it as a native macOS .app bundle with FFmpeg and pngquant bundled inside, so the download works without installing dependencies.
